Description
Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier - Please CALL 800-934-9194 is you have any questions. New for 2008! -- The Santa Fe Compact Dehumidifier (model # 4027020) can fit in tight spaces when no other dehumidifier can. Extremely compact and powerful, this dehumidifier will knock out excess humidity in even the harshest of conditions. This unit can remove 65 pints of water per day at AHAM conditions, servicing medium-sized basements and crawlspaces up to 1,800 square feet with ease. Low-temp operation, superior air filtration, and optional accessories provide complete flexibility. Free Digital Humidity Gauge with Purchase. Air flows through your home from the ground up. That is why it is so important to keep your crawlspace or basement dry and clean. If your crawlspace or basement is constantly saturated with excess moisture from the ground, excess mold, mildew, bacteria, and odors can build up and work their way into your home. Amazingly Compact The Santa Fe Compact measures only 21 inches wide, 12 inches high, and 12 inches deep. Never before has such a powerful dehumidifier been available in such a small package, able to conserve your valuable crawlspace and basement space. When available space is really tight, this unit is actually small enough to fit in between floor joists. With the optional Hang Kit, the Compact can even suspend in between floor joists from above. Powerful Performance Don't let the small size of this unit fool you -- this dehumidifier was designed for performance. The high capacity Santa Fe removes up to 65-pints of water per day when tested in industry-standard AHAM conditions (80 F and 60% RH). Medium-sized crawlspaces and basements up to 1,800 square feet are no problem for the Santa Fe Compact. For larger crawlspaces, you may want consider the Santa Fe HC Dehumidifier. Basement Installation Installing this dehumidifier in your basement is easy -- simply plug in the unit and direct the gravity drain hose where you would like the excess water to go. One optional installation technique includes unit ducting. Ducting the Santa Fe in your basement allows you to hide your dehumidifier away in a storage space or place it wherever you need it. You can also choose to remove air from one room and have it to blow the air into the next room, if desired. Crawlspace Installation For those customers who are considering this unit for a crawlspace area - crawlspace air vents are often not effective enough to control humidity year-round. As you may imagine, when hot, moist air is entering the crawlspace through a vent, that air will cool and release moisture into your crawlspace. Therefore, a sealed crawlspace, coupled with a reliable dehumidifier, is the best way to ensure a dry and healthy environment. Three-step installation is recommended for total humidity control: Seal all outside vents to eliminate outside air and control outside moisture intake.Install vapor barriers over any exposed earth. Install the Santa Fe Compact to provide complete humidity control to optimum crawl space conditions. As an additional option, you may also choose to run ductwork to the far ends of a crawl space to force air circulation. Customized Operation There are a variety of accessories available that tailor this unit to fit your needs. Ducting kits, hang kits, caster kits, and condensate pumps can all be purchased to be sure that this unit will fit your specific installation needs. Also, an optional remote dehumidistat can also be used with this unit. It works very similarly to a thermostat for an air conditioner; it is activated when the moisture level in a separate space rises above a specific threshold. Condensation Pump Option If the gravity drain isn’t a possible option for eliminating the collected water, a condensation pump kit is available. This unit is easily adaptable to use a condensate pump, and this will give you the option of running the drain hose up and out a window or around a doorway to your yard or garden. These pumps are energy efficient as well and work with a float switch that allows the pump only to run when needed. Advanced Filtration -- The Santa Fe comes standard with a MERV-11 air filter. This efficient filter removes dirt and allergens (including mold spores) from the air down to 1 micron in size -- keeping these pesky particles out of your machine. This upgraded feature protects your investment and ensures it it will perform at its best for years to come. This filter should be changed between 6 months and a year, depending on your level of pollution. This unit comes with a Free Digital Humidity Gauge & Thermometer (by mail-in rebate included).
