Description   Salix sachalinensis, 'Sekka', JAPANESE FAN-TAIL WILLOW, Zone 4,5,6,7,8, Mature height - 12'x12', Growth - Fast, Light - Sun -Part shade, Soil - Med.-Wet, Origin - Japan A long time favorite of ours. Winter reveals in mature plants a spreading  tangled mass of twisted branches with flattened ends that are very attractive in floral arrangements. An established plant can be cut back hard in late winter yearly, to provide  stems for arrangements or just snip as many stems as you need. Catkins emerge silvery grey, but antlers turn yellow and complement daffodils in Spring. The shiny green leaf that follows stays looking good through out the summer, customers compare it bamboo.
