Japanese Maple Acer Palmatum “Kasagiyama” is one of the most interesting and flashy cultivars available. It begins the year with a Mardigras color palate of large to medium sized pink purple leaves that are lighter in the middle and darken towards the edges. They act as a canvas for the dark veining. Scrimshaw on pink could be apropos. These colors become infused with green for summer but always seem to keep a slight red flush. I enjoy the fall palate as well in tones of red, but this tree is simply amazing in spring. It can be 15-20’ tall after many years in the landscape where it lends great atmosphere to hosta, fern and perennial plantings. It thrives in containers as well making it smaller and slower and bringing the intricate foliage closer to the viewer. This item is a very well branched 3yr year old graft of this cultivar 22" tall. Will need immediate planting with provided instructions. Can tag and hold during extreme weather conditions.
