If you refer to a ODS system, the answer is yes! Actually if the unit dos not receive the necessary oxygen the flame become elongated and the flame go over the ION detector therefore shutting off the unit. Example: Go vertical 1 feet, turn through the wall and then vertical again 3 feet and then install the cap. If you go 2 feet and then turn you will have to have 6 foot of vertical before cap. Got it?
