This unit is NEW, but does go back to about 1999. Not many changes over the years as these have remained similar from the early 90's to present. These units are work horses and built in the USA to last and last! Commercial grade. The unit is new with original box, packing material, set of 4 glass plates + 4 bonus ceramic plates, attached power cord, 2 rear lint screens (1 carbon/1 metal mesh), and instruction manual. I have purchased numerous used units 10-15 years old still going strong. They make a good investment. This unit was never used. The owner said this Eagle 5000 was originally unpacked and sat out on display (not running) in their office for a few years and then packed away. Never out on demo. They took it out again before they sold it to me to check/test. Everything checked out when I received the purifier. I have included 4 new Eagle 5000 matched ceramic plates as a back-up for the glass plates. The older glass plates are a little more fragile, so as a back-up I included the ceramic ones - $40 value. One last observation ... I'm never worried about the age of these units as they run forever, but age is lightly deteriorating the foam "lip" on the back inside bottom. The foam is slowly turning to dust from age/dryness. It does not affect the unit in any way as both the rear lint screen and inner carbon screen seat nice and snug without it. Most used units I see have this foam completely gone. The foam is cosmetic only in nature - it is still mostly there; just slowly/lightly coming apart. Pictures 2 and 3 show this long black foam 1 inch wide strip on the lower inside. This unit will be packed securely inside and out for safe shipping.
