Very easy to fit by any competent DIY person.   There are lots of other applications these Immersion heater's could be used for, especially where there is no electric mains power available and you need hot water.    What these very compact heating units are actually designed to do, is continually heat up the water in your hot water cylinder / tank 24 hours a day wind or light permitting with free energy So when you’re normal main heating system kicks in  it will reach its water heating preset temperature much faster.   This will give you considerable saving's £££ €€€ $$$ off your gas, electricity solid fuel or oil heating bill's. They do however require a dedicated regulated 48 Volt DC supply To achieve this ideally your wind generator or PV panel should supply a battery bank arangement to store the energy generated. The immersion should then supplied from the battery system through a regulator at 48 Volts DC. The length of the heating elemments that protrudes into the water is 18 cm. The body of the immersion heater is 12cm  long which includes the terminal posts.
