Description
2 weeks left at this price!!! Act NOW! Ebay will soon be raising their seller fees so prices will be going up to cover the extra expense. This auction is for 48 (FORTY-EIGHT!) Vigorous Thuja 'Green Giant' Arborvitae trees (Thuja Plicata x Standishii) in Quart Pots!* (*Plants grown in quart pots have bigger stem caliber than plants grown in small liner pots, a more robust root system, AND should establish quicker.) Sorry, we cannot ship to the West Coast states at this price. 15" - 20" in height above the pot Well-rooted in full quart containers (not bare root!) Guaranteed healthy upon arrival Insurance included with Shipping Important note! Make sure you purchase 'Green Giants' grown from cuttings. Thuja Plicata x Standishii cannot be grown from seed! Unless otherwise requested, your trees will be shipped the first Monday or Tuesday after payment is finalized. If you wish, we can delay shipping until you're ready for them. Even next Spring! _________________________________________________________________________ As with all our listings, we include an attached picture representing the plants you will receive. Why buy before seeing the actual product? The picture includes our smaller 10" liner next to the bigger quart pot for comparison. You will receive the bigger pot. ___________________________________ Consider this: Evergreens can get too tall for their pots and become rootbound, which increases the time it takes for them to get established. 15" trees in a small liner pots are probably a bit root bound. These quarts are at a perfect stage for the size tree that is in them and, with proper care, should establish more quickly. ___________________________________ SC residents add 7% sales tax. Green Giant (Thuja x 'Green Giant'), 1998 winner of The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Gold Medal Plant Award, grows to 40 feet with a broad pyramidal habit. It is deer-resistant, fast growing, aromatic, and is used for wind breaks, Christmas trees, or as a distinctive specimen. Its growth habits are similar to Leylands. Once established, expect about 3 feet of growth per year. They do great in the South, but have a farther reach North than Leylands. They tend to bronze a bit in the winter, but green back beautifully in the Spring. Hardy in Zones 5 - 8. Please note: The outer foliage on Green Giants does bronze in the winter. You will notice this upon opening your package. This is perfectly normal and they will green back up in the Spring. We could keep them green in a greenhouse, but then they would not be cold hardened and survivability would be more difficult. Landscape Architects are beginning to use these instead of Leylands because they are resistant to the fungus (Cerosporidium sequoiae) that is damaging Leylands. __________________________ Note about planting and shipping: Shipping to Continental US only. Sorry, we cannot ship to the West coast states at this price. Unless otherwise requested, your trees will be shipped the first Monday or Tuesday after payment is finalized. If you wish, we can delay shipping until you're ready for them. Even next Spring! . In the South, zones 7 & 8, fall & winter are the best times to plant. Our more northern customers, zones 5 & 6, often prefer to wait until spring. If planting in spring, don't let the trees dry out & water slowly and deeply at least twice per week during the summer. Depending on your preference, we can hold your plants and ship them whenever you want, even next Spring. Just let us know!
